Directions
Caddo Lake is located between I-20 and I-30, on the Texas-Louisiana border.
From the west (Tyler, Dallas area, etc):
Go east on I-20 until you reach the Marshall exit for Hwy 59, Exit #617.
DO NOT EXIT AT THE ”CADDO LAKE” Hwy 43 exit!!!
Exit onto Hwy 59, turn LEFT.
You will go approx. 5 miles on Hwy 59, until you reach the intersection of 59 and Hwy 43 North.
(Look for the RR overpass, signs for Caddo Lake and Karnack, and a Lowe’s. )
TURN RIGHT onto 43 N.
You will travel approx. 15 miles to Karnack; watch for signs for Caddo Lake State Park.
At the intersection of Hwy 43 and FM 2198/FM 134,
turn RIGHT onto FM 2198 (if you go left, you’ll be on FM134 and go to Jefferson).
Go 5 miles, to the town of Uncertain.
Turn LEFT at the intersection of Cypress Drive ( the Uncertain Flea Market is on the left) .
The Cypress View Cabin is about 6/10 mile, on the right. Look for the sign out front.
The Slough View Cabin is approx. 1/10 mile farther; at the intersection of
Bois d’ Arc Drive– turn RIGHT; the cabin is on the left.
If you are coming from Plano, Denton, etc:
Avoid I-20.
Take Hwy 380 through McKinney to Greenville, to I-30.
On I-30, go east (toward Texarkana), until you come to Mt Pleasant.
Take Exit #160 (the first Mt. Pleasant exit) and go RIGHT on Hwy 49 to Daingerfield.
Continue on 49 through Daingerfield to Jefferson, about 48 miles. In Jefferson,
cross Hwy 59 and pass the Brookshire’s grocery (last stop for groceries!).
Bear RIGHT at the intersection, onto Hwy 134. This will take you through historic
Jefferson and across the bridge of Big Cypress Bayou, which feeds Caddo Lake.
Turn LEFT about a mile past the bridge, at a ‘T’ intersection, and continue on Hwy 134.
At HWY 43, (approx. 10 miles) continue straight across onto FM 2198, and you’ll reach
Uncertain in about 5 miles.
Turn LEFT at the intersection of Cypress Drive (look for the Uncertain Flea Market on the left) .
The Cypress View Cabin is about .6 mile, on the right;
The Slough View Cabin is slightly farther (.1 mile).
At the intersection of Bois d Arc Drive, turn RIGHT; the Slough View Cabin is on the left.
If you are coming from the Houston/Nacogdoches area:
Come north on Tx Hwy 59 to Marshall. At I-20, go straight and proceed to Hwy 43 N,
about 5 miles. Look for the railroad overpass, the signs for Caddo Lake State Park, and Lowe’s on the corner.
Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 43N. Go approx . 15 miles, to Karnack. Look for the signs for FM 2198.
Turn RIGHT onto 2198 (if you turn left, you will be on Hwy 134, which goes to Jefferson.)
and drive approx 5 miles to the town of Uncertain.
Turn LEFT at the intersection of Cypress Drive (the Uncertain Flea Market is on the corner).
The Cypress View Cabin is on the RIGHT, approx. 6/10 mile.
The Slough View Cabin is approx. 1/10 mile farther.
Turn RIGHT at the intersection of Bois d’Arc; the Slough View Cabin is on the LEFT.
From south Louisiana:
Take I-49 or La 71 to I-20.
Go WEST on I-20, toward Dallas, to the Hwy 59 exit (in Marshall, Tx).
Exit on TX HWY59N (LEFT) .
You will go approx. 5 miles on Hwy59, until you reach the intersection of 59 and Hwy 43 North.
Look for the RR overpass, signs for Caddo Lake and Karnack, and a Lowe’s on the corner.
TURN RIGHT onto 43 N. You will travel approx. 15 miles until you reach the intersection of

From Arkansas/Oklahoma:
From I-30, take the Hwy 59S, Loop151 Exit.
When the loop ends, you’ll be on Hwy 59.
Go approx. 19 miles to Atlanta, Tx, where you bear left onto the 59 Loop. Walmart, on the left,
will be your last chance for groceries. When you reach the intersection of
59 and Hwy 77/Pinecrest , go straight for another .06 miles, to the intersection
of Hwy 43 S. Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 43 and drive 30 miles. Just after y ou cross over the bridge of Big Cypress Bayou,
you’ll arrive at the turnoff to FM2198.
Turn LEFT onto 2198. (If you turn right, you will be on Hwy 134, which goes to Jefferson.)
and drive approx 5 miles to the town of Uncertain.
Turn LEFT at the intersection of Cypress Drive (the Uncertain Flea Market is on the corner).
The Cypress View Cabin is on the RIGHT, approx. 6/10 mile.
The Slough View Cabin is approx. 1/10 mile farther.
Turn RIGHT at the intersection of Bois d’Arc; the Slough View Cabin is on the LEFT.
